The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development had launched a hygiene and sanitation competition that involved the seven districts of the capital. Since the launch of this contest "Yaoundé clean city", city dwellers were in the movement and lent themselves to the game. A contest that had been launched in preparation for the day of housing and urban development by Minister Celestine KETCHA COURTES, which is celebrated this Monday, October 07, 2019.Then, the results of the contest have been published and the awards were given to the main winners.
1st prize: Yaoundé 6th; Melen
2nd prize: Yaoundé 3e; Okolo block 88
3rd prize: Yaounde 5th; Grand Mfandena
"Yaoundé clean city" was a challenge that had been given by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development. The goal was to make the city of Yaounde clean and to take precedence over the commune and the three cleanest districts of the Cameroonian capital. The competition, aimed to increase the mobilization of actors to fight against the insalubrity of the city. The criteria for the selection of the competition were the management of liquid and solid waste, the organization of citizens, the maintenance of green spaces, as well as the fight against permanent and temporary congestion along the roads. The first three will each receive an envelope worth 2.5 million, 1.5 million and 1 million CFA francs respectively.
