It is DJAILI AMADOU AMAL of Cameroon who will have thus managed to seduce the international jury composed of writers and journalists of renom at the end of the 2019 edition of the orange price of the book in Africa. A jury charged with appreciating as much the background as the form of the six novelistic productions selected for the final phase of this major literary competition.

Cameroon is thus honored by this victory of the author from the northern part of the country who in this book Munyal, the tears of patience invites an incursion into a Sahelian universe by giving to live or relive some of its realities such as early and forced marriage, domestic violence or polygamy. In this book, the author has kept the feminist relevance that we know from Walaande, the art of sharing a husband, published by Ifrikiya editions, Yaoundé in 2010, or Mistiriijo the soul-eater published at the same editions Ifrikiya in 2013. An explosive cocktail, which allows the author to win the sum of 10,000 euros that was key to the other five finalists Khalil Diallo of Senegal with his book At the edge of death, Youssouf Amine Elalamy of Morocco with Even not dead, the Ivorian Pierre Kouassi Kangannou who proposed Eburnie, the Moroccan Salima Louafa and her Chairs of clay, Africa Orient, Yamen Manai of Tunisia and her work L'amas ardent.
This is a first edition at the height of expectations that will have during his great evening of coronation, managed to give free rein to the expression of the art of Cameroon and magnify this art there, in its orality, its musicality and his dances. DJAILI AMADOU AMAL seems to have succeeded in passing, once again, the message on the condition of the Sahelian woman, but also African in a general way.
