The lifeless body of a Cameroonian soldier was found in the town of Buea regional capital of the Southwest, in the early hours of Wednesday, February 6, 2019.
"The crime was rather barbaric because the attackers beheaded the soldier and hung up his head on a stick in front of the building of the Buea Baccalaureate," said the governor of the Southwest, Bernard Okalia Bilai, quoted by the Anadolu news agency.
According to the administrative authority, localities in the region are the scene of violent clashes between the Army and separatist armed groups. The dissidents want to set up a "Lockdown" operation in the North West and South West regions from February 05 to 15.
An operation that consists of a lock to prevent any movement of people between these two regions and the rest of the country. The objective is to isolate the regions in crisis. To ensure the respect of their slogan, the secessionist militants furrow the localities and attack those who do not respect their instructions.
"Several vehicles and houses were set on fire by the attackers who, since Monday, forbid populations to go out. They imposed a lock in the area. Everything is on stand-by, " reports the Southwest Governor.
