Necrology. Crash of a helicopter: General KODJI and 3 officers of the army fall in arms
All 4 of the helicopter's occupants were killed in the crash this Sunday in Madide, a village about 9 km from Bogo, in the department of the Diamaré, Far-North region.
A statement from the government, said that it is a technical breakdown that is causing the crash. The officers were returning from a mission to supervise their troops on the ground, who are engaged against the Nigerian Islamist sect, Boko Haram at the time of the crash. What sets aside, the terrorist track that would have targeted the officers.
The remains are being transported to Yaounde Air Base 101. These officers will receive the honors of the Republic in the coming days, at their funeral the date of which has not yet been fixed.
